Rules

You have to be a CSCA member to participate, joining the website does not make you a participating member.  However if you are a member of the website, you can pay annual dues of $20 and participate in distance casting events, FOM, and other happenings.  Likewise, you do not have to participate on the web. Just see me or Britt to pay dues; take part in the fishing or casting prizes; and more importantly, the camraderie and shared learning experiences.

Hatteras Jacks is the sponsor for this event, please visit and spend your money there.  Dance with the one that brung ya!!

1.     All fish entered in FOM must be caught will surf fishing. Surf fishing is defined as where the waves break on the shore.

2.     Take a photo of your fish and post it on the board.

3.     It will be easier to more accurately determine the winning fish with a scale in the photo, even a soda can will help.

4.     I will pick the winner from the photos, so there is going to be a subjective element,  please try to understand the difficulty.

5.     I will pick the winner by fifth day of the next month for the previous month.  Please be available for questions if I have any.

6.     All decisions once posted are final.

Due to some feedback at a very late date this year i am refining the rules a bit, but mostly as an explanation rather than changes.

The fish of the month may be a doomed catagory for CSCA.  It started with a sponsor that just plain lied and did not produce the goods.  The resulting mayhem left disgruntled participants and the association to clean up the mess.  I decided to post the rules in such a manner that would make it clear where the buck stopped and that place is with me.  I think I was successful in getting my point across, but believe I alienated the participants as much or more than the unscroupolus sponsor, protagonist of the initial damage.  I have softened the rules so they don't appear to to intimidate or worse, imply you will be in a lawsuit, if you enter.  I think of myself as a fair person and I wanted this to be fun.  It can still work, let's be fair and support or generous sponsors.  Thank you..........
