I can't stand it.  I got aCast Pro rod blank 2-5 11 footer.  I've put some cork and seat on it and taped guides.  Thats as far built as it is going to get before i go see what it will do on those Florida Pompano.  Leaving Wednesday for a couple of days down in Florida.  Its the right time to be there, gonna drive until I feel the urge, then I'm going fishing.  Let you know how it turns out!

You  just can't be lucky every time you go fishing and this time was the rule not the exception.  Got down to the Playalinda area late in the day and fished a couple hours.  The conditions were Excellent, it looked good and my buddy Al slid a very nice Florida pompano up on the beach within 30 minutes.  The whitng (sea mullet) were biting hard and we caught about a dozen of those.  I had tied some heavier shock leader on and it was slapping through the guides, but I risked it fouling, and let a good cast go, ten minutes later I slid a nice pomp on the beach.  I'm sure that cast pro will make its way into the quiver of my three rods on the beach.  One says he will fish 3 rods,  with the purpose of fishing close, medium, and long range.  That is the case, but they all better be capable of long distance if you wnat to catch big pompano.  Al caught one more, I hooked a nice one that jumped off, and they closed the beach, no biggie always tomorrow.

We got up the next day and hit the beach, after a biscuit we started gathering sandfleas.  Bait was hard to come by and by the time we got to fishing the wind was howling.  A big front was coming with thunderstorms and 20 knots predicted, at best marginal winds for the nest three days.......so long florida, hello I-95 North.  Truth be known, the last two trips down were perfect, had to happen sooner or later.
